Want to become a bus driver on Waiheke Island?

About the role

Work within a motivated team to deliver fantastic customer service, support your community and experience stunning views from your ‘office’ that is Waiheke Island.

Our bus drivers are everyday people. They enjoy working with customers, love driving through Waiheke's challenging and spectacular roads and take pride in their job. Dealing with so many different people every day requires you to communicate clearly in English (written and oral), but also be flexible and patient enough to understand those who are not English speakers. Caring about their safety is a must.

At Fullers360, we are passionate about your development and we can support you in getting your Class 2 and P Endorsement – that’s right, you will be paid to train with us! Not only will you become a fully qualified bus driver, but you will work for a company that supports your career development.

Waiheke Bus Carrers - Fullers360

“Every day is always different”

Vicki and her partner relocated to Waiheke Island from Central Otago in 2016. After 9 years working as an Independent Midwife, she was seeking a career change to transition to her new beginnings on Waiheke. Initially with no experience as a bus driver, she answered an advertisement for the Waiheke Bus Company, who supported her through driver training and licensing - all the way to a leadership role!
“Every day is always different. Some days you’re doing school runs or public bus routes or even guided island tours - once you commit we support with all the training!”

Zero Emissions Youth Art Competition

What’s it about

How would you like to see your artwork on Auckland’s first fleet of electric buses? Waiheke Island is set to be Auckland’s first suburb with a fleet of electric buses arriving soon, thanks to Auckland Transport, Fullers360 and Waiheke Bus Company.

To celebrate the arrival of Waiheke Island’s first electric buses, Fullers360 and Auckland Transport have launched a youth art competition, encouraging budding young artists to literally paint a greener future for us through this competition.

Who can enter

If you are between the ages of 5 –18, we want you to illustrate a zero emissions future on the island. The winning entries will be displayed on the back of the electric buses for all to enjoy when they go into service. There’s also a bunch of other prizes up for grabs!

How to enter

There are two categories to enter – Primary, and Intermediate/Secondary, and all the entries will be judged by Linda Chalmers from the Waiheke Community Art Gallery. You can choose to illustrate half or cover the entire bus back with your amazing illustrations!

Competition entries must be a submitted hard copy following the instructions in the downloadable entry form, and close at 5pm on Friday, 16 October 2020.
